September 3-5, 2019 – The office of Partnership and International Affairs welcomed 6-strong delegations from the Singapore Health Promotion Board (SHPB) in a study visit organised as part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) concluded between ThaiHealth and Singapore Health Promotion Board in 2019, with the objectives to exchange knowledge and best practices of the two organisation’s past missions in order to strengthen partnership and cooperation in pushing policies to eradicate NCD risks in both Thailand and Singapore. During the study visit, the two counterparts engaged in two main activities:

  • Study visit by SHPB to ThaiHealth in Thailand under topic of mobilising social power through social marketing, public health community volunteers, and knowledge exchange. (September 3-5, 2019)

 

    • Study visit by ThaiHealth to SHPB in Singapore under topic of promoting healthy lifestyle in communities, containing the risks of NCDs through information technology and knowledge exchange. (to be organised in March 2020, date to be announced)

On September 3, 2019, ThaiHealth’s international affairs team led by Mr Rangsan Mankhong and Ms Thanyaphat Chumkamolthanat led the Singaporean delegation to a study visit of public health volunteer system under administration of the Bangkok Metropolican Administration and the National Health Security Office at 67th Public Health Service Centre in Thaweewatthana district. The delegation was welcomed by Dr Veeraphan Leethanakul, Director of NHSO Region 13, Dr Suthee Saritsiri, Director of 67th Public Health Service Centre, Ms Wilailak Wisasa, Acting Director of NHSO, and staff. The two counterparts exchanged knowledge and practices. The delegation was also greeted and shown the field work of public health volunteers at Sakulthip village, where a total of 8 public health volunteers and a team of nurse from the 67th Public Health Service Centre.

On September 4, 2019, the delegation conducted a study visit at ThaiHealth office. Dr Nathaphan Suphaka, Acting Director of Partnership and International Affairs Office, conducted a presentation of ThaiHealth’s past missions and past cooperative work with SHPB. The SHPB delegation led by Ms Chan Yu Zhen and Ms Adeline Ng, presented to the Thai counterpart the SHPB’s work on mobilising social power through social marketing in Singapore. At ThaiHealth, Ms Suphathanuch Sondamrih, Director of Marketing Communication Division, showed the Singaporean delegation of ThaiHealth’s past media campaigns; Mr Nant Mangkorn, Marketing Communication Specialist, lectured on “Development of Media Campaigns”; Ms Warthaporn Thanomsingh, Marketing Communication Specialist, gave a lecture on “How to initiate media channel for the right target”; and Ms Thanawadee Ong-Insee, Marketing Communication Executive, continued to moderate a Q&A and Knowledge Exchange session.

On September 5, 2019, ThaiHealth’s team of Partnership and International Affair team led the Singaporean visiting delegation to a field trip at Mass Transit Rapid Authority of Thailand (MRTA) to see ThaiHealth’s Out-of-Home-Media campaigns in several MRT stations, namely Lumphini station, Hua Lamphong station, and the newly-opened Wat Mangkorn station. After that, the delegation was led to CentralWorld department store for a dinner reception. As part of the reception, Dr Supreeda Adulaya, ThaiHealth Manager, led the Singaporean delegation to the the special exhibition “Good Life starts at ourselves – Live Healthier” where Assistant Public Health Minister Sathit Pitutecha was there to greet the visiting delegation. The exhibition also attracted ThaiHealth partners, media squad, and the general public from all walks of life.

The reception of Singaporean delegation from Singapore Health Promotion Board ended fruitfully with promising future projects and another level of cooperation.
